Citizenship by descent
Children of Jamaican nationals born overseas must first be registered as Jamaicans before a passport or other travel document will be granted. This will not prevent these children from holding a British passport, if they are so entitled. A citizenship application takes three months to process.
The following documents are required:
Completed certified Application Form,
Original Birth Certificate or other proof of Jamaican Citizenship, parents’ ID,
Two photographs (one of which should be certified by the Certifying Official who signed the application form), as well as, the applicable fee(s).
Passport fees
First time or renewal: adult - £75.00 ($90 USD), minor - £55.00 ($60 USD)
Visas
Visitors are generally required to present a valid passport when traveling to Jamaica, as well as proof of anticipated departure from Jamaica. US citizens and members of EU Schengen States do not need a visa for tourist travel up to 90 days, for UK citizens and members of Commonwealth States no visa is required for up to six months.
