An initial suggestion of moguls in Grenada with interesting journeys, a clear upwards trajectory whose stories can be told in a visually appealing way.



Mark Reynier @ Renegade Rum



The son of a wine merchant – who would ask his children to identify the wine in their glasses at dinner time – Reynier’s first job was cleaning bottles before they were filled and labeled.


He went on to found the iconic Waterford Whisky Distillery (Ireland) and in 2018 launched the Renegade Rum Distillery (Grenada). Located near Pearls, on the island’s north‐eastern coast, the US$25 million Renegade Rum Distillery aims to revolutionize the global rum industry.



Teddy Frederick @ Grenada Film Company



A talented artist, creative director Teddy is the co-founder of the Grenada Film Company



Mark DeCaul @ Container Park, Virgin Beach



A former triathlete, Marc is the son of one of Grenada’s leading businessmen spearheading development in Grenada’s True Blue area (site of the St George’s Medical School). Married to Adele Garbutt DeCaul, owner & company director at Calabash Luxury Boutique Hotel.



Dr Valma Jessamy @ Jessamine’s Eden + Phytomed Honey



Dr Valma Jessamy is the resident scientist of the award-winning Grenville Vale Tropical Botanic Garden.


In 2009 a swarm of honey bees made their home in the garden and since then she has developed a proprietary planting scheme of over 135 species of medicinal plants native to the Caribbean creating a sanctuary for the honey bees.

Irina is the Principal and Managing Director of Irina Kostka Architecture, a full-service firm dedicated to creating innovative designs that celebrate the cohesion between the natural and built environment.


In 2022, just two years after the firm’s conception, IK Architecture won two awards at the @internationalpropertyaward in the categories.



Barry Collymore (Mount Cinnamon Hotel, West Indies School of Hospitality)



Barry started his career as a journalist in Barbados and moved on to become the press secretary and senior policy advisor to the Prime Minister of Grenada.


In 2022, Collymore, acquired total ownership of Grenada’s Mount Cinnamon. He is also the founder of the West Indies School of Hospitality in partnership with Cornell University.



Devin Nelles (Le Phare Bleu Resort & Marina, Island Fever)



In 2004 Devin and his wife sold all of their belongings and left their native Canada for the Caribbean with no plans other than to get by on their hospitality skills.


After managing Grenada’s boutique La Luna hotel, consulting gigs led them to Central American jungles, the Pacific coast of Mexico and various remote Grenadine islands.


In 2018, the pair joined Le Phare Bleu (LPB) to transition the development into a more casual marina resort, rebranding the property to LPB with tropical cottages and the introduction of Island Fever Tropical Tavern with a unique marina village.



Mr Killah (Award-winning entertainer and studio owner)



Mr. Killa is a Grenadian cultural ambassador and global performer. In 2022 he scooped an African Muzik Magazine Award (AFRIMMA) scooping the prize from well-known dancehall artists Spice, Patoran King, Steff London, Shatta Wale, Popcaan and Shensee.



Rolanda McQueen @ Mt Pure

Owner of the award-winning Mount Pure Natural Mineral Water. While living in London McQueen was the owner of a chain of high-end retail boutiques frequented by a distinguished customer base of young royals, fashion models and television personalities.


In 2002, she was voted Black Business Woman of the Year by the European Federation of Black Business Women. Upon returning to her native Grenada she founded Mount Pure, became a senator in the island's parliament.


McQueen is also Chairman of Grenada's Commission on Cannabis Legalisation and Regulation.
