Citizenship by descent
Surinamese citizenship can be acquired by children whose parents have Surinamese nationality at birth.
According to the country’s Act on the Nationality and Residency there is no room for dual citizenship. The law states that the moment you opt for and receive another nationality you lose the Surinamese nationality.
UK and US citizens, among other countries, are eligible for a tourist card.
Tourist Card Fee: Single entry US$ 35.00 (three months, Single Entry)
Valid Passport must be submitted
Passport must be signed and valid for six months from the date of intended travel
Copy of computer generated itinerary and/or round trip ticket
Alternatively a tourist visa valid for up to 60 months (five years) with multiple entries is costs $ 100.00 to US passport holders.
Non US passport holders can obtain a tourist visa for two months (multiple entries) for US$ 45.00. There is also a 12 months (one year) tourist visa (multiple entries) which costs US$ 210.00.
Members of Caricom states do not require a visa to enter the country.
