Citizenship by descent
Every person born in Saint Lucia after 22 February 1979 becomes a citizen at the date of his/her birth.
A person born outside Saint Lucia after 22 February 1979 can become a citizen at the date of his/her birth if, at that date, his father or mother is a citizen.
Passport fees
First time passport applicants need to have an interview done at the nearest Embassy or Consulate.
(US) $115 passport renewal fee (all fees are payable via postal money order only).
Visas
Nationals of OECS countries and France have freedom of movement within St Lucia and can enter the island with a national ID card instead of a passport. Nationals of CARICOM countries can stay in St Lucia for up to six months.
Saint Lucia has a mutual visa-waiver agreement with the European Union which allows all citizens of states that are part of the Schengen Agreement to stay without a visa for a maximum period of 90 days in any 180-day period.
UK and US passport holders can stay in St Lucia for up to 42 days (six weeks).
